Spectemur Agendo and Theta Delta Chi
The Spectemur Agendo Foundation was created in 2001 as a a 501(c)(3) educational foundation by alumni members of Theta Delta Chi’s Beta Charge at Cornell University to provide learning opportunities for the community and maintain the facilities at 800 University Ave.
Educational Programming
Through endowments created by the brotherhood, educational grants and scholarships are given every semester. Topics for lectures and workshops have included food, music, film, fine art, health, engineering, history, and government. Providing these opportunities furthers Ezra Cornell’s mission to provide “an institution where any person can find instruction in any study.”
The House & Renovations
Construction of our house was completed in 1929. Engraved on the cornerstone are the words “Spectemur Agendo” which translated from Latin means “To be seen in action.” The most essential actions of the SAF have been significant renovations to the house itself, maintaining and improving the facilities as needed.
